Before coming to Ecuador the Lord revealed to me that I didn’t know how to rest

Whether it was resting physically or simply sitting in his presence.

I would always get the squirms and try to fill my time with other things.

Yet. It all changed when I had to stay home from ministry.

One fateful morning as we walked down to ministry, I sprained my ankle.

This wasn’t the first time I had sprained this ankle…so it wasn’t a huge surprise when the popping noise occurred.

Once we got to Dynamos, we checked it out and decided that I needed to rest.

FREAK FEST.

Rest. A word that gave me the squirms

The team moved poles down the mountain while I elevated the ankle and sat on a brick (and cried).

And man. The Lord revealed some sweet truths while sitting on the brick, and during my time at home late in the week.

1. I can rest.

2. I am HIS.

3. I am enough.

4. I am trusted.

5. He keeps His promises.

After a couple of days of resting with the Lord, He allowed me to sit in my pain. He showed me what it looks like to just be. He taught me how to listen to His voice.

He taught me how to rest.

  5. So proud of you, Suze! I love that you press into what the Lord has for you. The fact he’s showing you he will be with you as you sit in the pain, and that you are enough even when you may feel like you aren’t doing enough. the lord is growing you in big ways!
