I have had the honor of serving with three different teams while being on the field. Each team holds a sweet place in my heart, and I am so thankful for my time with each of them!

H-squad is currently in Guatemala, and our debrief starts TODAY. We’re here in Antigua for a couple of days, and then we’re off to Honduras.

With this debrief, we have team changes. A really bittersweet time of change. One that holds so many good things!!

I want to share about the three teams I have had the honor of being with!!

This month, I was with Oasis!

L to R: Rebekah, Sarah, Kennedy, Heather, Cait, Me, Lydia

Ohhhh man. This team, these women of God!

It was a sweet month filled with a lot of street dogs (aka moose), coffee orders, roof top morning meetings worshipping the Lord, cooking in our little kitchen, friday night laundry, and one really funny fight night.

We served with Rachel and Nolo by helping with homework help, jovenes, worship room, and Sunday night church. The occasional cheering on of Nolo, Selvin and Gabby at their soccer games, and getting to hangout with Rachel. It was a super chill time filled with rest.

Oasis y’all showed me the importance of sitting with the Lord. I was in a weird season of my pathways changing. Getting frustrated with my quiet time/ and needing to refocus. Hitting the wall of squad leading.

Not only the importance of dwelling, BUT! Being yourself and having fun with the Lord!

It was so fun diving into the depths of the Lord with y’all. The morning meetings praying and singing together, teaching on pathways and the victim/freedom circle. Going on prayer walks, and dang, just the intentionality behind it all.

The spontaneous lake trip, Easter brunch, and of course watching OBX!! It was such a good month of rest and ministry. LOVED IT.

Oasis- y’all are each, really incredibly women, sisters, friends, and daughters of Him. Keep choosing in. It’s so worth it.

In March I was with Fuente De Vida!

L to R: McKayla, Hailey, Me, Chelsea, Macy, Amanda, Kailee, AND Craig!

With fuente, we built a house with Craig and the Mistecos! It was a GOOD month of mixing concrete, learning a lot of Spanish, moving bricks, climbing up to the farm, climbing Acatenango, and making hot chocolate at Casa De Fuego. We also served in a soup kitchen, and helped with kids clubs on fridays!

*the picture above is the house we completed for a family in the Mistecos community!

It was a month filled with many laughs, some tears, yelling “hey echo! Play…” and then dancing while cleaning the kitchen. Honestly a super chill space, especially after manual labor all day!

Craig and Carol (our hosts) allowed us to feel at home. They are hilarious, giving, gracious people. They love others so well, and they love their sweet pup Canela!

They also work closely with the Misteco family, and hot dang. INCREDIBLE. Beyond thankful to know this family, and to be loved by them.

Fuente showed me the power of loving intentionally. How jumping in and trying new things, and having fun along the way, makes it worth it. How to be in each other’s space and ask the hard questions, and to allow time/space for depth/trust to grow.

Doves, keep bringing it all to the table. Sit with Him there, and never forget how delighted in each of you are. Siempre si.

In February and January I was with Gracefully Broken!

L to R: Krista, Kelsie, Me, Cayce, Sierra, Ashely

Oh my gosh, all I can think of is our first dance party for team time. In our house in Jaco, with four other teams all around, and just SWEATING. Lol.

With gracefully broken, we painted a mural, did some manual labor, picked up trash on the beach, helped with the church, visited POPS many times, shared testimonies, and took some cutie pics on the beach!

Something I’ll always remember- when we shared testimonies and we each took time to celebrate what the Lord had done in each other’s lives. One of the most loving and tender things I have encountered on the race.

It was the first one and half ish months on the race, yet y’all hit the ground running. So eager and excited! It was sweet to be apart of, and to watch y’all find your way in community, and growing in intimacy with the Lord. Really, really proud of y’all for not shying away from hard conversations, and seeking to understand.

Thank you for loving me well, especially in the middle of figuring out what it means to squad lead. Y’all showed me grace upon grace, and let me be apart of Gracefully Broken.

To my dancing QUEENS, you are loved, redeemed, chosen, and fought for.

To these three teams, to the squad: I am beyond excited to celebrate all He has done in each of you, and to see y’all choose one another in your new teams.

Love you all,

Suzie
